SmartLawn- Cool Season Turf at SmartLandscape
Cool season turfs such as Bluegrass, Fescue, and Perennial Ryegrass grow well in the cooler temperatures of winter and spring. They maintain their greenness year-round if provided with adequate water during hotter or dryer months. Most traditional turf is composed of cool season grasses. The eight cool season turfs at SmartLawn include the following blends.
Four of the eight cool season turfs are irrigated by sub-surface Eco-Mat irrigation, and the other four are irrigated by surface Hunter MP Rotators. Below is a map of the layout of our cool season SmartLawn plots. Indicated in the map are the irrigation types and soil moisture sensor types.
We collect water applied data for each of the eight plots weekly. See below for water applied data for 2024 for plots 5 and 6, 9 and 10, and 11 and 12. We do not have 2024 data for plots 7 and 8 due to leaks and issues with our flow meters.
