9th Annual Celebration of Roses
Come out to UC Davis's West Campus for a fragrant weekend of fun and education all about one of our most beloved cultivated plants, the rose. The weekend will feature a booth from expert Master Gardeners and Rosarians sharing their expertise with rose pruning and planting demonstrations, more expert education from the Foundation Plant Services staff, and even more opportunities to learn about roses from these fabulous speakers:
Jim Sproul, Rose breeder, will present "Breeding Novel Rose Varieties" at 10am Saturday
Jacques Ferare of Star Roses will present "Status of the Rose Market in the U.S." at 11 am Saturday
Presentations will be held in the Trinchero Family Estates Building at 501 Hopkins Road.
Tour the FPS Rose Collection
12:30-3:30pm Saturday and Sunday
Only once a year is the public allowed access to the wonderful 8- acre field of roses at Foundation Plant Services. Get a tour from one of the FPS staff and find out all about the important rose research they perform.
Take a Rose Home to Enjoy!
10 am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday
After you learn all about how to care for roses, you may purchase one (or two!) on site. The beautiful 5 gallon rose plants are only $25.00 each!!
All proceeds of the rose sale go to fund the educational programming of the CCUH This year, its all about variety as we will have over 120 rose varieties this year!. And, as always, you can purchase a sweet potato plant as well.

Rose Days is held near 455 Hopkins Road off Straloch Road. Plenty of signs will show the way.
- Take Hutchinson west of 113, head right toward the new West Village apartments
- Veer right at the first traffic circle, then left at the second traffic circle to continue onto Hutchinson. for about 1 1/2 miles.
- After about 1 ½ miles on Hutchison, take a left on Hopkins Road at the second line of olive trees. Drive until you reach Straloch road. Turn right onto Straloch road to park.
- Parking is free.
