CCUH coordinated the design contest sponsored by Häagen-Dazs for a bee-friendly garden that will be used for educational outreach on the UC Davis campus next to the Harry H. Laidlaw Jr. Honey Bee Research Facility on Bee Biology Road.  The winning team created a design of interconnected gardens with bee-themed names like Honeycomb Hideout, Nectar Nook, and Pollinator Patch.

CCUH is also coordinating and overseeing the Honey Bee Haven installation.  The garden was installed in the summer and fall of 2009, with a preview opening on October 16, 2009.  After the plants have become well established, there will be a Grand Opening to the public on June 19, 2010.
